AUGUST 16, 2006

AUGUST 9, 2006

LOKJAW and SOUTHGATE ripped up the pleasant mood common to Nanaimo's Millers Pub and surrounding real estate this past Saturday night with vulgar performances from both bands. Making it one hell of a ride for those un-expecting patrons and area residents, the crowd of over a hundred metal hungry fans witnessed the first concert ever hosted by the pub.  They were not disappointed. With the patio doors cranked wide open and the windows cracked as far as could be, all of Nanaimo heard the power of the PA system free of charge! LOKJAW will be back, that was definitely one to remember! Thank you SOUTHGATE for setting it all up. We hope to do many more with you...

Two words, hard work! That¹s what it takes to shoot a full-length professional debut video and to record a full-length professional debut album. LOKJAW has now accomplished both! A very huge thanks has to go out to all who made this possible. LOKJAW undeniably has to thank the man, the machine, the doctor, digital Dave for his unbelievable patience, knowledge and talent he brought to the mixing board every day, for many many days, as the sole recording engineer of LOKJAW¹s first album. LOKJAW must also tip their hats to the mastering magicians at Suite Sound Labs for their tuned in ears.
Last but not least, Bobby and Peter.  Bobby was the video director, video producer and video editor while Peter "the Teamster" was the assistant video director and camera operator for LOKJAW¹s first video "DEADICATED". LOKJAW cannot wait for the video to be released!

Thank you all for your obvious passion, vision and creativity. LOKJAW feels very lucky to have crossed paths with you freaks...

JULY 3, 2006

Next up on LOKJAW's list is to complete the production of their first ever professional digital video on one song off of their self titled debut CD. The video shoot is being shot on location at one of Vancouvers oldest but still existing theatres. Very haunting and eerie mood indeed! We can't wait to release it onto viewers of the music video masses!

Recently, LOKJAW completed mailing out their self titled debut CD to every Canadian College and University campus FM radio station as well to all major city and regional FM rock stations across Canada. We have also sent out our CD, for review, to music related magazines, newspapers and distributers all across Canada. Watch out for us in print, in stores and listen for us on the air waves, the LOKJAW beast has been released!

Show your support for the beast by calling your College/University campus FM radio station and your local regional FM radio station and requesting LOKJAW to be played. If they play any metal they will have LOKJAW's CD on file!

You will be able to purchase LOKJAW's CD from this website in the very near future, it may allready be availible depending on when you are reading this! Check our merch section for details!

New believers to what LOKJAW is all about were born after a mighty performance at one of Vancouvers finest clubs to witness indiependent artists, The Pic pub, hosted LOKJAW's CD release show which took place in early June. What a show it was. If you missed it, dont miss the next show! LOKJAW marched through a full 45 minute set which ended with an encore song named, Scars, for the intoxicated metal-crazed fans who were moshing it up hardcore! (FUCK-YEAH) We felt a serious energy connection with you guys, it was great! Thanks to all you crazy-moshing and non crazy-moshing fans who made it out to the show, keep it up and see you all at our next one! Thanks to local rockers Koark, Radiokill and Island metal heads Southgate for doing the show with us, you all sounded great and it was pure pleasure rippin it up on stage on a Friday night, I am sure you all agree! We will do it again and again, for those fans of metal demand it of us, allways, live and loud!

MARCH 8, 2006

Holy shit! It has been a little while since the last update. So much to tell! First, we have been playing some great shows! We played a show @  The Picadilly Pub on feb 22, and it went really well! Feels so good to play live and loud! We have a show coming up on March 9 @ The Standard in New Westminster. The other bands on the bill include Damsel Fly and Burlap. You just know that show is going to kick ass! Not to mention our up coming show @ Richards on Richards on March 30. This is our second show for the EMERGENZA Festival, so get the day off and drink some beer while listening to some great local music!

As for the CD, we are still fine tuning the mix, but we will be in the mastering stage shortly. It is taking awhile, but we feel that it is a bad idea to put out a disc that doesn't kick serious ass!
That be it for now, keep checking here for more news! I will try to get off my lazy butt and write this newsletter more often.
